Current Referees Registration

Registration for the current year begins after August 1.  You will need to complete a registration form prior to registration.  You may either obtain this form at the recertifcation clinic or visit the materials and links section of this website to download a current registration form and bring it completed to the re certification clinic.

Referee Minimum Recertification Requirements

 

Step 1. Online Payment

Each referee, instructor, assessor and/or assignor will be required to complete the online payment for the current year.  Please use the link below that will take your to the website and follow the directions. The requested user name and password can be found on your registration card that is sent to you from US Soccer.  If you can not find your user name and password, you can either request the help from the website or contact Doug Clarke.

Step 2.  Complete the Online Course

Each referee will be required to complete the online course that is specified for their current grade now on a yearly basis.  These courses can be found at ussoccer.com or by using the links below.  Upon completion of the course, you will be able to print a certificate that provides proof you have completed the course.  You will need to produce these certificates in order to prove you have completed the online course.

Step 3. Online Examination

Each referee will be required to take the current year referee exam appropriate to their grade and receive the minimum passing score.  The minimum passing scores vary based on your grade (referee, assessor and instructor).  Please use the link below to access the online testing site and follow the directions.  You will have upto three (3) tries to produce a passing score.  If a passing score is not obtained, you will be required to attend a special training class before your registration will be processed.

Step 4.  In-Service Training Sessions

Each referee will be required to attend a minimum of 3 hours of training during the year.  The purpose of these sessions is to keep all referees current with changes to the Laws of the Game (LOTG), changes in US Soccer interpretations of the laws, discuss game situations that have occurred which you feel you would like clarification on and refresh your mechanics.  Other topics may be added at the discreation of the State Referee Committee.  Every attempt will be made to have sessions throughout the year in both regions of the state.  The dates, times and locations for these training sessions will be posted below and updated when appropriate.  Please make sure you sign in on the attendance sheet for each session you attend.

Step 5. Grade 7, 6 and 5 Referees

The Nevada State Soccer Referee Committee will be requiring all Grade 7, 6 & 5  to pass one maintenance field assessment prior to registration.  We understand this is above the minimum requirements requested by US Soccer for Grade 7 referees but the committee feels this is an importment referee development item for referees.  These assessments must be completed by December 15 or you may be downgraded. All maintenance assessments must be requested from the State Director of Assessment John Lord in writing via e-mail.  The State Director of Assessments will assign all assessors.

Step 6. Grade 6 and 5 (State) Referees

In addition to the maintenance field assessment, each State Referee must pass the US Soccer Referee fitness test.  Fitness Test dates will be listed below once scheduled.

Once a referee has successfully completed all required steps, your registration will be completed and your referee badge appropriate to your grade will be provided to you.

Assessors, Assignors and Instructors

The Nevada State Soccer Referee Committee will be requiring all Assessors, Assignors and Instructions to attend an In-Service training class prior to recertification.  The dates, times and locations for these training sessions will be posted below and updated when appropriate.  Please make sure you sign in on the attendance sheet for each session you attend.
